C(r)op Out!

Hey Sand Stars

‘Tis the season for all things festive and that means parties and vacations! During my travels to the southern hemisphere, I’ll be stocking up on trendy, yet holiday-appropriate pieces for summer days and nights (I know; Christmas in the summer is going to rock!)

I’ve recently started loving cropped tops as they are incredibly versatile. Dress it up with a maxi, midi or mini skirt or with high-waisted loose slacks for a chic yet effortless look.

I’m not a fan of too much skin-show, so I’d suggest a longish cropped top so there is only a hint of skin (I also wouldn’t suggest eating too much bread or popcorn before wearing one or else you’ll look bloated- eek!). Printed ones look stunning beneath a sheer blouse, too; or dressed down underneath a baggy tank-top.

My current faves are cropped tops in simple black or white, or made with anglaise and in funky tribal prints or dotted with studs. These styles are generally always on-trend so they’re great investments.

Some high-end brands have gorgeous cropped tops, however I prefer purchases from the high street like Forever21, TopShop and New Look. The one in the pic below is from Forever21 and I’ve often worn it as a vest underneath a more formal dress for performances for more conservative clients.

The key thing to remember here, ladies, is that cropped tops don’t mean cropping out modesty 😉 Leave a bit to the imagination ❤
